A top international ensemble
The breath-taking stage design only comes to life through the artists on stage. This summer, with an ensemble of top international singers under conductor Iván López-Reynoso, musical quality of the highest level is guaranteed.
As in previous years, the resident orchestra is the Piedra Festival Orchestra, performing the lyrical arias of Aida, Radames’s dreamy romance 'Hole Aida' and the opulent Triumphal March. Also returning to provide an outstanding and experienced ensemble is the Vienna Philharmonia Chorus under the direction of Walter Zeh.
Spectacular stage design and opulent special effects
The seasoned leading team previously conjured up Asian flair at St. Margarethen Quarry in 2021. Now in 2024 they invite audiences to take a journey back in time to the Egypt of the Pharaohs and witness the dramatic love story between the servant Aida and the captain Radames.
Along with a spectacular stage design by Thaddeus Strassberger, operagoers can again look forward to the magnificent costumes by Giuseppe Palella. Other familiar faces have also been brought back for this new production of Aida.
