Piedra Festival Orchestra
The Piedra Festival Orchestra consists of outstanding musical personalities from the most renowned professional orchestras in Hungary.
After their great success with The Magic Flute at Oper im Steinbruch in 2019, the orchestra - sought-after throughout Europe - appear for the first time under this new name here in 2021. The orchestra present themselves as a flexible ensemble of high artistic standards, taking into account the special structures of a large festival like Oper im Steinbruch: the most suitable musicians are selected for each opera production in order to accommodate to the special musical texture of each specific opera. Special emphasis was placed on orchestral harmony and tonal balance when selecting the artists. Specific requirements for the instruments by the respective composer are also taken into consideration.
