Born in 1992, Ilia Kazakov has a degree in choir conducting and vocals. In 2019 Ilia became the Winner and Special Prize Winner of the Galina Vishnevskaya VII International Singing Competition.

Ilia Kazakov’s most recent and upcoming engagements include debut with Semperoper Dresden as Gremin Eugene Onegin, debut as Ruslan Ruslan and Lyudmila, Basilio Il barbiere di Siviglia, Dottore Grenvil La Traviata, Figaro Le nozze di Figaro, Talbot Maria Stuarda at Staatsoper Hamburg, René Iolanta at Opéra de Rouen Normandie, debut and return to the Salzburger Festspiele as Baron The Gambler and Doctor Macbeth, roles such as Ferrando Il trovatore, Gremin Eugene Onegin, Don Basilio Il barbiere di Siviglia, Varlaam Boris Godunov, Truffaldino Ariadne auf Naxos, Il Re Aida, Zuniga Carmen, Pistola Falstaff, Lord Gualtiero Valton I Puritani - all at Wiener Staatsoper, Zuniga Carmen with Oper im Steinbruch St. Margarethen.

In concert Ilia Kazakov’s past and recent engagements are Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (Nathalie Stutzmann) and at Wiener Staatsoper, Ghost of Virgil Francesca da Rimini in concert with Berliner Philharmoniker (Kirill Petrenko), Schubert’s Mass No. 6, Mozart’s Requiem, Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 14, all in Austria, Germany and Russia.
