Yinjia Gong was born in Sichuan, China. With his grandfather working for the Peking opera, the love for music and theatre lies within Yinjia's family. While training his voice at the Sichuan conservatory, he discovered his passion for western music and opera and continued his studies in Sweden at the Malmö Music Academy and the Royal University of Music in Stockholm. Early in 2012 he made his professional operatic debut as Riccardo in Un ballo in maschera at Stockholm Folkoperan and played Rodolfo in La Bohème at Norrlandsoperan in 2013. From the 2013/14 season, Yinjia Gong is a company member of the theatre in Regensburg where he sings a wide repertoire including such roles as Duca in Rigoletto, Jonathan in Saul, Ferrando in Così fan tutte, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Don José in Carmen, Gérard in Les Enfants Terribles, Lyonel in Martha, Narraboth in Salome, the title role in Puccini's Edgar, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Ismaele in Nabucco, the Beast in The Beauty and the Beast and Cavaradossi in Tosca.
