Enrico Casari

The Italian tenor studied singing at the Conservatory of Verona and was trained as a Young Artist Program member of the Vlaamse Opera in Gent and of Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg.

Most recent engagements include Kundrjas (Katja Kabanowa, stage director: Robert Carsen) and Salome at Teatro Regio Torino (under Gianandrea Noseda), Teatro Filarmico di Verona and Teatro Comunale di Bologna; Remendado (Carmen) in a new production by Hugo De Ana for Arena di Verona and François in Bernstein's A quiet place in Maastricht. He gave his debut as Bernstein's Candide in Vilnius under Sesto Quatrini and Vincent Boussard and as Don José (Carmen) at Teatro Pergolesi Spontini Jesi. He returned to Monte-Carlo as Arturo (Lucia di Lammermoor) under Roberto Abbado and Jean-Louis Grinda.

He will perform for the first time at Janacek Festival in Brno and debut Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) at Opéra de Metz.

Past seasons' highlights included: Beppe (I Pagliacci) at Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Opéra de Metz and at Opéra Royal de Wallonie next to José Cura; Des Grieux in Auber's Manon with Sumi Jo at the same theatre; Tamino in Bolzano, for Opéra de Rouen and at Palais des Beaux Arts in Bruxelles; Janek (The Makropulos Affair) with Opéra National du Rhin Strasbourg and Teatro La Fenice in Venice; Dormont (La Scala di Seta) at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées Paris; Comte Barigoule in Massenet's Cendrillon at Opéra Royal de Wallonie; Mozart's Bastien and Bastienne at Teatro Bibiena in Mantova; Normanno (Lucia di Lammermoor) in Rouen, Limoges, Reims and Lille; Valzacchi (Der Rosenkavalier, directed by Mariame Clément) in Strasbourg; Malcolm (Macbeth, director: Francisco Negrin) at Opéra de Monte-Carlo and Brighella (Ariadne auf Naxos) once more with Opéra Royal de Wallonie.

For CD recording he was chosen to sing Baron Rouvel in Giordano's Fedora next to Angela Gheorghiu and Plácido Domingo (label: Deutsche Grammophon
